Why Journaling?

Journaling can be effective for many different reasons and can help your reach a wide range of goals. It can help you clear your head, make important connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.  According to Courtney Ackerman, an organizational psychologist and researcher, effective journaling is a practice that helps you meet your goals and improves your quality of life. This can look different for everyone, and the outcomes can vary widely, but they are almost always very positive.

These are our stories, how we were transformed through trauma, change and loss and how journaling intentionally changed it all for the better

Our eBook, Novaturient, was born from our desire to share our experiences and knowledge with those experiencing one of life's major changes (loss, trauma, heartbreak, retrenchment, illness, disability) or the lack thereof, stagnation. This is our voice in print, this is us sharing how we faced, learnt from, and transformed through our most difficult life's events in the hope that parts of our stories could become your survival guide. We also explain our process and share 24 Points of Reflection that formed the starting point of our respective transformations through life. We believe in not only processing life through journaling but progressing through it to build an even more amazing life.


It is known:

Life is hard. But once you accept this you can create the life you want.

We often survive what life brings us by powering through, by enduring, and by trying to find the quickest route to feeling okay again. The opportunity for transformation, growth, and healing is often overlooked because of the approach or pace at which we expect, or are expected to "find the new normal". Herein lays some of the roots of personal stagnation, depression, anxiety, existential dread, and ultimately a life half lived. We took on this challenge and packaged our personal experiences, training and our collective readings into various guided processes to help you navigate to a space of personal transformation and a life redirected. It won't be easy, but it will be great!


What is Journal my Journey?

Change can happen by choice or chance. Either way, change can be overwhelming and terrifying. Depending on you, it can be transformative too.

Journal My Journey provides guided journaling courses designed to shift your thinking and find your way to a renewed life. We share various sets of carefully thought out actions, unique and personal experiences, how to’s, success stories, advice, check lists, podcasts, videos, books, inspiration, and motivation. Whether you have help during this stage or not, going through it is emotionally draining. Our goal with Journal my Journey is to grow a supportive community for you with shared values to help you find your way.

Why we created Journal my Journey

We created Journal my Journey because we firmly believe that if we share what we have learnt, we could help someone who could, in turn, help someone else, and if we all choose to reveal our light perhaps we can create a sky full of stars to shine down and illuminate the world.

Who are we

Journal my Journey is a partnership across continents, that brings a seasoned change management consultant as well as a registered clinical psychologist together, to bring the best resources to you in order to face this journey no matter which stage you find yourself at.

The Change Specialist

My name is Mondi Gale.

From the turn of the century I have been privileged to have worked and gained experience abroad, constantly navigating change, even though I grew up in South Africa. I am an only child and always had to find ways to keep myself busy. I loved to spend time reading and writing and continuously learning. I graduated University with a business degree, and I worked in management consulting focusing on managing change and organizational effectiveness.

I have a passion for empowering people to transform through change and become the best most effective version of themselves. Throughout my life I have had to overcome significant and sometimes incredibly traumatic challenges. I have fallen, I have overcome, and through it I have grown stronger, resilient, and more productive through conscious effort to overcome massive life changes. I believe in post traumatic growth.

There is a great deal to my story that has brought me to this point. I wanted to share the raw, real me with you. It has brought me to a place where I want to help you overcome your own emotional roller-coaster of change and become your own hero to your remarkable story.

The Clinical Psychologist

Hi I'm Andrew.

I am a clinical psychologist currently living in South-Africa. I’ve lived with depression and anxiety my entire life. It has crippled me mentally and physically affected me, to the point where surgery became an option to curb severe sweating. 

Medication helped me feel different, but never really helped me feel better. I’ve felt lost. I’ve lived in 5 different cities. I moved country to live in New Zealand. I have worked in clinics, prisons, schools, and corporate. I’ve been destructive and impulsive for large periods of my life and change has been my dark passenger for most of it.

My trauma began before I was born, in a loving and caring home. I felt it, but I wasn’t supposed to. If I gave up along the way people would have said “I don’t understand it, he had everything going for him?”

But I didn’t give up, I never had surgery, and I chose to say no to medication. In our book I share bits of what I’ve learnt and with it I invite you to Journal your Journey with us so that you too can start finding your healing, your liberation and your joy from living this life.
